What to Expect at FBCH

How do I get there?
bar

The church is located at the corner of 6th and Van Buren. The address is 501 E. Van Buren, Harlingen, TX 78550, but the main entrance is off of 6th street. An interactive map to FBC-Harlingen can be found by clicking here.

What should I wear?
bar

At FBC-Harlingen, we are more concerned with you personally and your needs than with what you wear. Dress up or dress comfortably, and either way, you will fit in.

Where do I park?
bar

There are two parking lots for the church - both are on either side of the intersection at 6th & Van Buren - as well as road-side parking along Jackson and 5th Streets, all of which is free. For handicap and first-time guests, there is special parking in the main parking lot close to the building and playground.

What do I do when I get inside the church?
bar

If you'd like some help finding your way around the church, let one of the greeters at the Worship Center or Family LIfe Center entrances know. They will be glad to help you find a seat in the Worship Center, the nursery for your littlest ones, a classroom for your children or youth or yourself, or answer any other questions you may have.

What's available for my children?
bar

Your children from birth through 12th grade will enjoy small 'Life Groups' groups just for them on Sundays and on Wednesday evenings. They have fun with other children their age, learn Biblical truths and participate in age-appropriate music and games led by committed church volunteers. For more information about Discovery Zone for preschoolers, Connecting Kids for children through 6th grade, or Student Ministry for 7th through 12th graders, just click.

What should I expect in worship?
bar

You'll enjoy traditional and contemporary music and practical messages that help you deal with real life issues. You'll receive a worship bulletin with upcoming activities at FBC-Harlingen. It includes an outline of the pastor's message, complete with Biblical references. What you learn on the weekend, you'll be able to use during the week. We want to help you connect with the personal hope God can give you and help connect you with other people to form meaningful friendships. Worship services are at 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday in the Worship Center. WOW, or 'Worship on Wednesdays' for adults, meets Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Large Dining Room following an evening meal.

Only on Sundays?
bar

Absolutely not! There are adult, children, and youth activities on Wednesday, recreation activities Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays in the Family Life Center, small group Bible studies and prayer groups throughout the week, and many other opportunities to be in fellowship with others and seek God's guidance. Visit the Get Connected page as well as the FBCH Calendar to see what's going on.

Is the church accessible for the disabled ?
bar

The office and Chapel in the main building are accessible via ramp from the parking lot with an elevator to the Sanctuary. The second floor of the Stack Building and Family LIfe Center are accessible from an elevator just off the FLC foyer. Also, there are reserved parking spaces near the main entrance.
