Some of God’s longtime friends have found a place of fellowship and ministry in Harlingen.  They are a part of the Mature Adult Ministry at First Baptist Church.  At FBC Harlingen our emphasis is not about age, it’s about people - it’s about you!

Our mission is to share with individuals in this season of life in their desire to grow, serve, and pass on a Christian heritage to the generations that follow.  We do this through 4 key areas:

  1. Spiritual Enrichment – Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. (a variety of classes are offered) and fall and spring Monday's with Senior Adult Choir at 10:00 a.m. followed by lunch and a Bible Study of Revelation beginning at 11:00 a.m.  These opportunities give mature adults a chance to grow in the grace and nurture of our Lord God.
  2. Life Long Learning – Learning opportunities, both informal and formal are offered.  Seminars, conferences, and outings on topics of interest to mature adults help keep this generation interested and interesting.
  3. Socialization – Day trips, overnight trips, parties, and dinners.  Something for everybody!
  4. Service Opportunities – Mission trips, mission education meetings, homebound ministry, and food pantry ministry.  A place of service for everyone!
