Bro WadeRev. Wade Hood  •  Senior Pastor  •  Wade's Blog

     After accepting Christ as his Savior as a child, at age 16 Wade heard a clear calling from God into vocational ministry. His pastor at the time had him fill the pulpit the very next Sunday. He began preaching at youth revivals, special events, and filling in when pastors were out. At 18, Wade served as a Youth Minister and at 20 began pastoring. Bro. Wade attended Oak Grove High School in Paragould, Arkansas, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from William Baptist College and a Master of Divinity with Biblical Language from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
     About FBCH, Bro. Wade says, "I love the people of this great church. My family has experienced a great outpouring of God's love through the church and community. I also love the clear calling of God in the lives of the people of FBCH as we strive to be on mission together, reaching this world, and seeing God truly change lives. I look forward to many years of ministry as we do LIFE together."
     Wade and Jennifer have been married for 20 years and they have three school-aged children:  Adam, Rachel, and Aaron.
 

Bro. FrankRev. Frank Dudley  •  Minister of Missions / Administration

     Frank is from Santa Rosa, is a graduate of Howard Payne University, and holds an MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He sensed God's call to serve in full-time Christian ministry soon after arriving at Howard Payne in 1972. He says "it was a very general call and I had no idea where it would lead. In time, it involved campus ministry, missionary service, university ministry, and now FBCH." At FBCH, Frank's duties include coordinating all mission endeavors as well as planning new mission opportunities. As Administrator he is also responsible for the church's physical plant.
     Bro. Frank says, "I love the interaction with the members and the potential the church has, especially in terms of missions. God has special things in store for FBCH and it is exciting being a part of it."
     Frank and Melaney have two children, Mary (Nate) and John, and grand daughter Ayden Grace, born March 27, 2007.
 

Bro. DudleyRev. Dudley Blakeney  •  Minister of Music

     Dudley felt the call into music ministry while in high school and was ordained at Calvary Baptist in Waco, Texas, in 1980. He has a Bachelor of Music from Baylor University and has served as the minister of music at churches in Waco, Houston, and New Braunfels.
     "I love the way FBCH sings. The corporate worship is joy-filled and makes the responsibility of leading worship very enjoyable," says Dudley. He has charge of all the church's music ministries, which include the adult choir, senior adult choir, children's choirs, Praise Band, Praise Team, as well as the planning of music for worship services.
     Dudley and Emily have four children, Corrie (P.J.), Katy (Shane), Tyler, and Jordan, and one grandson, Killian, born August 30, 2007.
 

Bro. MattRev. Matt Brennan  •  Minister of Students / Recreation

     Matt's call to ministry came during a Disciple-Now (DNow) weekend his junior year of high school. He has been involved in ministry to students ever since. Matt is a graduate of Baylor University and is currently enrolled in the MDiv program at Logsden Seminary.
     What Matt loves most about FBCH is working with people who genuinely love and serve the Lord with no selfish ambition. Matt is responsible for all ministries that involve students (middle school through college). He is also serving as the Minister of Recreation, which involves planning sporting events, many of which serve as outreach opportunities in the community.
     Matt and Sara have one son, Zachariah, born August, 2007.
 

Bro.CraigRev. Craig Blakeslee  •  Minister of Children / Discipleship

     Craig has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Washington State University and is currently working on a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Dallas Baptist University. Craig recommitted his life to Christ in 1994 and became involved in Navigators. At that time he became active in a local church and, in 1999, the Lord led Craig and Rossy to the Valley where he became a bi-vocational music minister, later serving as a pastor.
    Craig says at FBCH he loves "being around so many people who love and serve Jesus Christ. The enthusiasm and excitement for Jesus is contagious in a great way!" Craig is in charge of the children's ministry and coordinates AWANAs, Sunday School Life Groups, Kid's Worship, and the children's Spring Break and summer programs.
     Craig and Rossy have been married for 10 years and have three children Jessica, Jasmine, and Justin.
 

JillJill Budd  •  Minister of Preschool Children

     Jill holds an AASLA from Lamar University and for several years worked in the legal field. She felt led into full time ministry in 2002 while working with a group of women at FBCH and God opened a door for her to begin a ministry with preschoolers in 2003. Through this ministry, she is also able to minister to mothers of preschoolers and childcare workers.
     What Jill loves most about FBCH is "the precious little ones that come through our preschool every day as well as their wonderful parents and the women of our church."
     Jill's area of ministry involves everything with the preschoolers, coordinating MDO (Mother's Day Out), MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), Sunday School Life Groups, as well as providing childcare for all church events.
     Jill and Layne have three children, Heather (A.J.), John and Matthew, and one grandson, Nicholas.
 

JillRev. Chris Hall  •  Minister of Median / Senior Adults

     Chris is a graduate of Baptist College at Charleston and holds Masters of Arts degrees from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as an MDiv from Southwestern Seminary. Chris' call to ministry came in the summer of 1982 between his junior and senior years of college. After graduating, he began attending seminary. Chris says his "journey has been varied and somewhat unorthodox. Regardless, God has been faithful and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Him and His people at FBCH." Chris also serves as a chaplin at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
     Chris' ministry revolves around senior and median adults (age 55 plus) and providing opportunities for them to grow in their faith as well as providing fun learning and enrichment activities.
     Chris and Carmen have two school-aged sons, Kevin and Ryan.
 

AliceAlice Guajardo  • Financial Secretary

     Alice has worked as a financial secretary in several Valley businesses since graduating from high school. She loves working with the staff at FBCH and enjoys helping and talking with church members. Alice is responsible for all financial concerns at FBCH and handles payroll, accounts receivables/payable, contributions, insurance, and taxes, prepares all financial reports and budget updates and works every week with volunteers to count Sunday offerings.
     Alice has two sons, Joey (Maria) and Anthony, and one grandson, Julian.
 

KathyKathy Wheelus  • Education Secretary

     Kathy, like Frank, is a Santa Rosa graduate. She has additional training in business college and five years' experience as a legal secretary, eight years as an insurance secretary, and 30 plus years as a church secretary. She also serves as church organist at FBCH. Kathy is responsible for all record-keeping, maintains the membership database, and produces the Wednesday night "Reflections" bulletin and Life Groups information sheets.
     "I feel blessed that I have always been able to work where I wanted to, doing the work that I enjoyed most of all. Working with wonderful people all of these years is truly a miracle," Kathy says. The things she loves most about FBCH is the way that we all fell like family.
     Kathy and Gary have one son, Robin (Monica), who is an Ag teacher in Beeville.
 

MelaneyMelaney Dudley  • Worship Secretary

     Melaney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Louisiana State University and has 44 hours from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Melaney and Frank served 13 years with the International Mission Board, 11 of those years in Togo, West Africa. As Worship Secretary, she works with both Bro. Wade and Bro. Dudley in preparing for worship each week.
     Melaney felt the call to full-time ministry in high school and has served on church staffs as a youth intern and preschool coordinator and in the mission field as Mission treasurer and business manager. Melaney says, "I truly feel called to my position at FBCH and believe that God opened the door for me to serve here." What she loves about FBCH are the incredibly loving people who make you feel like family.
     Melaney and Frank have been married 30 years and have two children, Mary (Nate) and John, and a granddaughter, Ayden Grace.
 

SallySally Oden • Youth/Children/Preschool Secretary

     Sally studied two years at North Central University and has worked as a secretary for several companies. What Sally loves most about FBCH is "the wonderful people who sacrifice their time as volunteers."
     Sally and Hank have three children, Lee (Wendy), Todd (Tonya), and Travis (Kelly), and two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Dakota.
 

SaraSara Jimenez  • Custodian

     Sara attended school in Santa Rosa. Sara loves the people the she works with at FBCH and how everyone treats her.
     Sara and her husband have three children, Linda, Rebecca, and Robert, and seven grandchildren, Kayla, Summer, Robert, Julyssa, Tristan, Gia, and Christopher.

JuanJuan Lumbrera  • Maintenance

     Juan is our fourth Santa Rosan and is in charge of maintenance as well as heavy lifting and rearranging furniture. Juan says he loves how everyone at FBCH is nice and kind.
     Juan has three brothers, one sister and an aunt.

ChayoChayo Saldivar  • Kitchen

     Chayo was born in Mexico and has worked in a floral shop, nursery, and as a cook. At FBCH she is responsible for most food preparation and preparing meals on Wednesday nights, for church fellowships, youth and children's outings, and other church events. Chayo says she loves how volunteers are so helpful in the kitchen.
     Chayo has three children, Jaime, Yoshemin, and Germain, and one grandson, Angel.

ChuckChuck Farmer  • Recreation Staff

     Previous to working at FBCH, Chuck worked at Chili's restaurant. What he loves most about FBCH are the wonderful people he works with. Chuck is responsible for overseeing sports activities in the gymnasium.
